Dear Friends,

How often do you hear this? "We aren't a high-volume company and we don't want to be."

This is who we are. We want to stay a manageable size so that we still know all our customers by name or by the products they buy. We enjoy making our customers smile when they open a box from us, that's why we do what we do!

It isn't just a job. It's a passion. And we want to keep it that way.

My name is Barbara; here is my story that led me to Heaven and Earth Essentials, and why quality, passion, and pride are at the core of our products.

Having worked in the corporate world for over 25 years, I've been behind my share of desks, in front of plenty of crowds waiting impatiently to hear my presentation so they can get to their lunch date, and I've been on the firing line when issues arose and someone's head had to be served up on a platter. I've dealt with technical problems, personnel issues, and customer complaints. I consider it all to be good experience on how to effectively resolve and proactively avoid problems, manage projects, and especially--how to treat people.

I also learned how to avoid many of those issues in the first place, which I think is more important in the grand scheme of things. The cheapest way to go is not usually the best way. So when it comes to Heaven and Earth Essentials, we don't select the cheapest ingredients, recipes, or packaging. We analyze what it is we truly need, what our customers want, and then select the best solution.

For example, one of our biggest selling products is our Emollient Lotion. We don't buy it by the bucket or barrel from someone else; we make it by hand in small batches. We use quality ingredients and blend it by hand until the consistency is perfect. There's more than just ingredients in that container, there's pride and passion.

We believe that in order to have a truly enjoyable experience opening a package from us, all items are individually wrapped as if we were sending you a gift (because in our minds we are), and there's always little extras in the package too, to hopefully make you smile. And did you know? All our filler and safety material is recycled. We order large quantities of components on a regular basis and often can't keep up with all the filler material we receive. But all of it gets re-used, from the bubble sheets to the Styrofoam or biodegradable peanuts, air pillows, and boxes. Even our building is recycled--we recently renovated a 70-year-old building to house our business.

One of the things I personally enjoy doing is helping others. Whether it's finding the right scent or product for someone, or working with a customer to create a custom scent for a special event, I enjoy the challenge and the camaraderie of working together, much like solving a mystery. (Perhaps I watched too many episodes of Scooby-Doo growing up?)

Recently I worked with several women tattoo artists to create "Nourishe", an all-natural product to help in the healing process after getting a tattoo. I enjoyed the process immensely! It was amazing to see how these other women cared about their customers and how much they understood skin care. It took months of talking, trying, testing, etc. but we finally came up with a wonderful product that everyone agreed on. More pride and passion, and so much excitement and care went into that product!

Another thing I enjoy is listening to other people's ideas. I admit I don't know everything--who does?--and other people have different perspectives than I do. For example, we have a customer who, because of her physical limitations, can't reach areas of her body but still wanted to moisturize her skin. She asked if we could create a spray-on lotion for her--and voila'!--our Lotion Spray was born. Another problem solved and everyone wins.

When you put in an order with Heaven and Earth Essentials, you can rest assured that we are putting our hearts and souls in that box. Want something custom just for you? We can do that. Want something unscented? We can do that. Want a heavier or lighter amount of scent added? We can do that--because we create your products after you order them. Fresh. Personalized for you.

And we not only can do it, we are more than happy to. Because in this day and age when everything comes pre-made, made at least a year ago, and probably from another country, we want you to have what you want, and why not?

Who wants to settle for something that everyone else can have? Don't you want to feel special? I know that I do! Whether it's my shampoo/conditioner smelling like oranges dipped in fine chocolate, my perfume oil (my own special blend that I must admit I do not share with anyone), or my lotion sticks that I have everywhere, I want to feel special every time I use them. If your desire is to have a personal body product that is uniquely yours, we can do that. Making you feel special is what we do at Heaven and Earth Essentials.

We also include in every order at least one sample for you to try. Why? Because we know that our incredible list of fragrances and products can be overwhelming. So we try to match up a sample to what you've ordered. Maybe it's the same product in a different scent, or a different product in a scent you've ordered, or maybe a brand-new product. In any case, I hope you enjoy the free samples--I know that I do, when I get them from another company. If it's not something you would use, you can always share it with a friend and make their day.
